Intagliata &
Serano
handblown glass, Czechia / ceramic, italy / hand turned wood, Finland
Intagliata and Serano form a duo of sculptural stacking vessels that celebrate the dialogue between texture and colour. Each piece unites mouth-blown glass from Czechia, hand-turned Italian ceramic and a smooth wooden crown from Finland, all assembled in northern Germany. Designed and prototyped in 2025, the vessels stand roughly 38 cm high by 20 cm in diameter, with slight variations that attest to their handmade origin.
Serano: a sleek, modern ceramic bowl in vivid hues whose satin surface flows seamlessly into the clear glass below, creating a bold, contemporary silhouette.
Intagliata: a bowl enlivened by hundreds of hand-chiselled cuts that catch the light and add depth, offering an earthy counterpoint to the glass’s shine.
Designed and prototyped in 2025.

SERANO STACKING VESSEL

Shaping clay
It starts on the wheel
Each bowl is freehand formed on a throwing wheel, shaping it to accurate dimensions.
CUTS
The surface of the bowl is left to harden , and finally small cuts are made by hand to shape an uneven surface which will catch the light.
Final fitting
The piece is put back on the wheel and trimmed to perfection with a knife. The surface is burnished with a pebble or smooth instrument.
