The Matisse Stacking Vessels are charming, compact treasures, defined by their curvaceous hand-blown glass and distinctive wooden crown. Originally designed for the Tate Museum in London, this collection draws inspiration from the bold and expressive colour palette of French artist Henri Matisse.

Despite their subtle scale, Matisse vessels carry a strong sculptural presence, making them spontaneous yet refined design collectibles—ideal for gifting or curating an artful shelf.

Each piece can be disassembled into a petite glass vase and a small wooden container, blending artistry with function in a playful and elegant form.

Mould

Our Matisse collection is blown into a wooden mould in Czechia. The moulds are kept wet, so that the hot glass creates a fine layer of fumes within the mould, ensuring the glossy smooth surface on the glass

Mould blowing

For mould blowing a minimum of two people are required. One to gather and blow the glass and another to open and close the mould.
